Skin Cancer

Skin Cancer

Skin cancer these days tend to have increased in number especially in the Americas, Australia and England. Based on several studies, they were white people who suffer more of this type of skin cancer. This was predicted as a result of their frequent exposure (many exposed) sunlight. In Indonesia, people with skin cancer is fairly small compared to the 3rd country, however, skin cancer needs to be understood because in addition to causing disability (ruin the appearance) is also at an advanced stage can be fatal for patients.

Skin Cancer is a disease characterized by the growth of skin cells that are not controlled, can damage surrounding tissue and can spread to other parts of the body. There are three types of skin cancer that often affects mostly men, such as basal cell carcinoma (BCC), squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) and malignant melanoma (MM).

Basal Cell Carcinoma (BCC)

It is a type of skin cancer are most common. This type of cancer do not experience the spread (metastasis) goto the other body, but cancer cells can grow and cause damage to surrounding skin tissue. Skin colors are bright and often exposed to sunlight heating the two suspected as the cause of Basal Cell Carcinoma. Other factors that also may be the cause of this cancer type is a weak immune system (both the impact of other diseases or treatment), burns, X-ray beam.

1. Signs and Symptoms
Parts of the body basal cell cancer is usually the face, neck and scalp. The signs of this type of cancer is a lump a little shiny, reddish-colored with rising edge slightly blackish, abnormalities such as scarring and abrasions / lika that does not heal.

2. Types of Cancer Diagnosis
Single method to ensure that basal cell cancer doctor will perform a clinical examination and histopathologic by taking samples of the skin that is considered as the cancerous tissue (biopsy) for examination under a microscope.

3. Therapy and Treatment
If the diagnosis has been established clearly that the patients experienced skin cancer basal cell type, the action taken is usually surgical removal of tissue or skin of (cancer) completely, or they can be with radiation action. Other methods are also often done is frozen surgery, surgical power, lasers, photodynamic and with good medicine that is applied or injected (chemotherapy).

Squamous Cell Carcinoma (SCC)

It is a type of skin cancer that affects more men, especially the elderly (seniors). It is a type of skin cancer which occurs epidermal keratinocyte cell malignancy, is the second commonest skin cancer. SCC of skin cancer can spread gets another body, usually suffered by those in tropical region.

As with BCC disease, this type of skin cancer are also suspected due to sunlight (dominant), a weak immune body, viruses, chemicals and scar tissue can also cause this Disease. The signs and symptoms is to have abnormalities in the form of lumps or wounds that does not heal. Diagnosis is by the same method on the KSB, as well as therapy and treatment measures tend to be similar to basal cell cancer.

Malignant melanoma (MM)

This is the type of skin cancer the most vicious and potentially lethal. In America, the data obtained six of the seven patients died of cancer. And the number of people infected increasing from year to year. Malignant melanoma can develop from moles arise existing or newly emerging.

1. Signs and Symptoms
This information is very important for them that having a mole that then either change the color, size or shape, Moles sometimes itch and bleed when scratched. These cancer cells grow from melanocytes, the skin cells that function to produce melanin pigment.

Cancer is characterized by ABCD, A = asymmetric, irregular shapes. B = Border or uneven edges as well. C = Color or color that varies from one area to another. Can brown to black. Even in certain cases found in white, red and blue. D = Diameter greater than 6 mm.

2. Diagnosis of malignant melanoma
Enforcement of diagnosis in cases of this type of skin cancer as well as two types of skin cancer in the upper (BCC and SCC), namely action biopsy for examination under a microscope.

3. Therapy and Treatment
Malignant melanoma is a type of malignant skin cancer, can spread to other body gets such as the lymph glands. Action taken on this type of cancer is complete removal of cancer tissue by surgery, has been known to occur when the spread is required further surgery to remove surrounding tissue. If cancer cells are found spread to lymph nodes, then inevitably the gland is also removed.
